Wilson Park


The largest park in the District, Wilson Park comprises some 74 acres and a wide variety of recreational activities. Over 1,000 native and rare trees accent the parks many amenities, from our formal gardens that include a fountain, gazebo and many different plants. The park also features 1 lighted softball field, 7 baseball fields, 6 lighted tennis courts, playground, including one of the largest handicap accessible playgrounds in the midwest. The Wilson Park Pool, featuring a water slide and wading pool is enjoyed by 1,000’s every year. Our newly renovated ice rink is home to the Granite City High School Warrior Hockey team, dozens of youth teams and an excellent learn to skate and figure skating program. The park also features a lighted basketball court, 1.4 mile fitness trail, outdoor centennial pavilion and stage, 8 picnic shelters and much more.

Buildings: Administrative Office, Maintenance Buildings, three concession stands and two with restrooms, Garden office and shop, Ice Rink with warming room and concessions, Swimming pool bath house, office and concession.
