Tennessee Valley Audubon Society

About Us:

The Tennessee Valley Audubon Society is the local chapter of the National Audubon Society. Chartered in 1985 and incorporated as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization in 2016, TVAS spans the three county area of Madison, Limestone and Morgan counties, which includes Huntsville, Decatur, Athens, and Madison, among other cities and towns.

TVAS has a rich history; our representatives have appeared before lawmakers, state and national, to lobby for laws protecting the environment. Scores of young people have had good environmental education due to Audubon Adventures programs supplied by National and placed in classrooms by TVAS. We frequently partner with other organizations such as the North Alabama Birdwatchers Society on trips and other activities.
