Sycamore Cove Beach

Pacific Coast Highway

Sycamore Cove Beach is a day-use area for Point Mugu State Park in Ventura County. The beach in Sycamore Cove is excellent, but the biggest draw to this spot is probably the adjacent large campground with an extensive hiking trail network. Trailheads for various trails can be found along Sycamore Canyon Road which starts across Pacific Coast Highway from the beach parking area. This is the gateway into the Boney Mountain State Wilderness Area at the north end of the Santa Monica Mountains. Sycamore Cove Beach is a southwest-facing sandy cove that PCH wraps around. It has lifeguards, picnic tables, and nice facilities. Across PCH is the campground, nature center, and maps of the hiking areas.
