About Us:

Many customers like to know about the company and people behind the products they buy. Here we will tell you a little about ourselves. When you visit our farm you are likely to see three generations of Sutherlands at work there. Allen & D'rese Sutherland have been in the farming business in New Mexico for more than 35 years, 18 north of Aztec. Fresh produce has been our market both retail and wholesale. When our children, Bobby our daughter Amanda came back home to Aztec we began expanding the retail side of the business as well as opening the farm so that families might be able to experience and enjoy the different seasons. We have five grandchildren "growing" on the farm also. They are our helpers and will be glad to visit with you and tell you all about what they do while "working" at the farm!

Our family's mission is to provide a taste of agriculture to those that might not otherwise experience it.

We not only offer our fresh produce, but fun family events that have become family traditions to those who visit us. Sutherland Farms is a family owned working produce farm. We have a retail market on the farm where we offer our fresh picked produce as well as locally produced items such as honey, cider, jams, pickles and all natural beef. You may order special gift baskets made with any of our products. Check out the Purple Cow Kafe page for information regarding "Farm Plate" weekend specials. Green Chile Cheeseburgers and smoked meat sandwiches always available.

We offer Spring Educational Farm Field Trips to school students who are able to use our farm as an outdoor classroom. In July we can accommodate group outings on the farm. Bring your daycare group! In the fall we offer Pumpkin Patch Field Trips where students can take a hayride to the pumpkin field and pick their own pumpkins. 3rd weekend in September is our annual Green Chile Festival. Two days of live music, food and lots of green chile roasting! In September or October, depending on the full moon, we have a Moonlight Dinner complete with wine, hayrides and bonfires for adults.

On October weekends is our Pumpkin Festival when the families visit for hayrides to the field to pick their pumpkin, games for all ages - a corn pit, barrel train rides, petting zoo, food and much more!!
