Robert N. Hasenyager Great Salt Lake Nature Center

1700 West Glovers Lane
801-589-2373

The nature center is located along the southeast shore of the Great Salt Lake, adjacent to the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources' Farmington Bay Waterfowl Management Area (WMA). Up to five million birds of over 200 species visit Farmington Bay each year. Sixty of those bird species nest at Farmington Bay WMA, including Great Blue Herons, which nest in a unique man-made breeding colony that offers birding enthusiasts and others months of viewing opportunity. Download a PDF checklist of birds you may see in the area.

The Robert N. Hasenyager Great Salt Lake Nature Center is a place for education, discovery and enjoyment. We invite you to explore and find out what makes the Great Salt Lake ecosystem one of the most extraordinary natural features in North America. Whether you're a tadpole, a gander or even an old coot, you'll find something enjoyable to watch, listen to or learn about at the nature center.

Mission statement
To foster curiosity, understanding and pride in the Great Salt Lake Ecosystem among Utahns and the global community through world-class education and recreational opportunities.
