The Tippecanoe River is considered the river of lakes. It is fed and nourished by eighty-eight natural lakes. Each lake acts as a settling basin which reduces the amount of silt in the water. Thus, the water is clear giving us one of the cleanest rivers around to enjoy. For the naturalist, there is plenty to see. The banks are lined with willow, maple, pine, oak, and sycamore trees. The Tippi is also host to plenty of wildlife including red-headed woodpeckers, bobwhites, wild ducks, raccoons, and many other critters. For the fisherman, there is good smallmouth bass, northern pike, catfish, and pan fish fishing available. The Tippi is normally a friendly river with gentle currents ideal for the entire family. The average depth is 2-3 FT. most of the season. Come spend some quiet time on this beauty.
