Papa’s Pumpkin Patch, opened in 2008 and has just over 8 acres of pumpkins, gourds and specialty pumpkins. Planting starts in late June and the patch opens to guests the last weekend in September to Halloween. Owners Rick and Dory Budde don’t charge to get into the patch so you are able to pick your own pumpkins or select from ones already picked when you visit. On the weekends they offer FREE hay rides, barrel rides, bat cave, petting zoo, boat and bounce houses. While you are at Papa’s Pumpkin Patch, you can also purchase bake goods, pies, hot dogs, nachos, soup and drinks. The patch is open seven days a week 10am to 5pm, but on weekdays, some of the free activities are limited and based on the number of people visiting at the time.
During the off season you can find Papa’s Pumpkins Patch at local Farmer’s Markets selling baked goods, fruit pies, breads, cookies and seasonal produce. Check them out at the Farmer’s Market or plan a fun-filled visit for the family in the fall.
