History

A fun educational experience set amidst the beautiful mountains of Ashe County, North Carolina. The New River Zoo is an up close and personal encounter with animals from around the globe.

The zoo is a must see during your visit to the mountains. Conveniently located in the heart of the High Country and only minutes from the historical New River, visitors can enjoy area camping and canoeing facilities, as well as resorts and golfing.
