Mountain Lakes

75 White Mountain Road

The Community of Mountain Lakes is an independent district within the Town of Haverhill, along with several homes in the Town of Bath. The District has its own water system and and is guided by the Board of Commissioners and Planning Board.

The District is comprised of about 1550 acres, which was subdivided into approximately 1260 lots with 1235 in Haverhill and the remaining 25 in Bath.  There are approximately 17 miles of roads, 2 lakes with 75 acres of open water and several varieties of fish, along with an additional 25 acres of wetlands.  There are 570 acres of common "green belt" areas with numerous nature trails and habitat breeding areas abounding with wildlife, birds and plants.

Our District Lodge is available for rental by property owners and their renters.  We also have tennis courts, a swimming pool and 4 community beaches. During our summer program from late June to Labor Day, we have lifeguards on duty and our snack bar is open.  We also have a softball field, volleyball court, and children's playground along with horseshoe pits, picnic tables with umbrellas, and barbecue grills.

We have canoes, kayaks, and row boats available for rent.  Non-motorized boats that have been in other bodies of water are welcome in Mountain Lakes waters, but they do need to be washed at the boat washing station before putting them in our lakes (staff members will assist in cleaning your boats). Any type of motorized boats or other craft are expressly forbidden from the lakes and beaches.

There are approximately 320 completed homes in the District with additional homes being built this spring. Full-time residents account for approximately 40% of the District population and 60% join us as seasonal residents.  Mountain Lakes' location is within 20 minutes of top notch ski areas, Cannon Mountain and Loon Mountain, and within an hours drive of almost every resort area in New Hampshire - a great way to enjoy the fun and attractions without the high property costs and taxes of the resort areas.

Come join us at Mountain Lakes! We'll see you on the beach!
