Long Point State Park - Finger Lakes

Located on the east shore of Cayuga Lake just South of Aurora NY, in Finger Lakes Wine country, Long Point State Park provides a 4-lane boat launch, a modern playground, a swimming area with a swim-raft, picnic areas, fishing access, lake access, 4.5 miles of hiking trails, and spectacular sunsets over Cayuga Lake.

The easy access to the Cayuga Lake shore makes it popular for paddle-sports enthusiasts and fishermen alike. With a variety of habitats within the 296-acre park, including lake shore, grasslands, brush land, spruce plantations, intermittent creek ravine, and mature forests, Long Point is home to a variety of trees, flowering plants, birds, and wildlife which can be viewed from the hiking trails. In the winter Cross-country skiing and snow-shoeing are allowed on the hiking trails and unplowed roads.

The popular vacation rental at Long Point State Park is located right on the shore of Cayuga Lake, and is within 5 miles of a winery, an orchard, a brewery, Wells College, and the village of Aurora. Indoor cottage amenities include: a kitchen with a gas stove, refrigerator, coffee pot, toaster, microwave, and sink; a full bath; hot water; electricity; bedroom with double bed and dressers; main room with sleeper sofa, window air conditioner, furniture and dining table w/ chairs; and wood stove. Outdoor amenities include: boat dock; picnic table; fire ring and grill; and small lawn area. Bedding, dishes, cooking utensils, TV, internet, and phone are not provided.

Hunting

Deer (bow, shotgun & muzzleloading rifle), small game and waterfowl hunting is permitted in season.

Special DEC permits for big and small game hunting are required from the check station at King Ferry (315-364-7777) from October 1 - January 15.

Safety zones and restricted areas are posted to ensure the safety of other park patrons and regional personnel. Signs will be posted at all parks during hunting season to notify patrons of this activity. Handguns will not be permitted in any of the parks. No trapping is allowed.
