Imperial Beach Skate Park

425 Imperial Beach Boulevard

Made possible by the community, city, and skate enthusiasts, the 7,100-square-foot Imperial Beach Skate Park opened in November 2010.

Located at the I.B. Sports Park Recreation Center, it features a bowl, ramps, grind rails and benches for skaters of all ages to enjoy. There are no metal wheels, bicycles or formal contests allowed at the park. The skate park is free to use but skaters are required to wear a helmet, and elbow and knee pads.

The Skate Park was inspired by the movie ‘The Lords of Dogtown,’ which follows an influential group of skateboarders who revolutionized the sport and was partly filmed in Imperial Beach.
