About Us:

On September 24th 1960, Siegmund (age 27) and his wife Regina (age 24) along with their two children (Gary and Heidi) left Germany to come to the United States. “We left everything behind” they proclaimed. They arrived in New York City with just $2.00 between them. Neither spoke any English. Undaunted, they continued on to their destination, Siegmund’s sister’s home in Sheboygan, Wisconsin. This was just a few miles from where the Bulitz farm is located today.

After a few weeks, Siegmund finally found work at a factory in town, and Regina took up housecleaning jobs. Regina took the children with her to bring in more precious money. Regina also took in clothes for mending and ironing.

Being away from her homeland was difficult for Regina. She had no relatives here and spoke only German. She wanted to go back, but they did not have the money. Both kids soon started school so Regina resolved to stick it out awhile. During the next few years things improved. The Bulitz bought their first farm in 1965 and then had two more children (Paul and Kurt).

Siegmund started offering horse drawn carriage rides on what became known as the Bulitz Pumpkin Farm, located at N5924 Rangeline Rd. in Kohler, Wisconsin. One thing lead to another: Hayrides, Sleigh Rides, Church groups, and Girl Scouts. You name it, word got around.

In the 1980′s, Siegmund started driving guests at the American Club in Kohler, Wisconsin. Business expanded and so did the variety of carriages they offered: Weddings, Anniversaries, Engagements, and other special events with seating for one or many.

In expansion of the rides, one of the Siegmund sons, Paul, started the pony rides on the pumpkin farm in 1996, then started taking his ponies on the road in 1999. He started giving rides at the Sheboygan County Fair in 2001 and has done numerous events through the years.

The Bulitz Pumpkin Farm location moved to Paul and Debbie’s (daughter-in-law) farm, and their two sons (Tony and Andrew), at N6327 Rangeline Rd, Kohler, Wisconsin in 2004. Business expanded once again to provide birthday parties on the farm.
