Buck Island


Located just a half mile north of Helena River Park, Buck Island offers a rare taste of the kind of outdoor adventures immortalized by Mark Twain in his tales of Tom Sayer and Huck Finn.

The island's virgin natural setting offering five miles of hiking trails through a 1,000 acre hardwood forest and 500 acres of sand bars ideal for bird-watching, primitive camping, picnics, photography and superb fishing. The island is accessible only by boat.
