Barr Ridge Farms

1341 Nicktown Hill Road
814-948-5902

About:

Barr Ridge Farms was established in 1861 by Adam Lieb. Since then, it has been passed down and is now operating in the 5th and 6th generations, with Ralph and sons, Bob and Aaron.
We currently milk 200 Holstein cows and raise 230 replacement heifers.

Farming on about 800 acres, we are able to raise the majority of our own crops. (hay, soybeans, sorghum, and corn). Originally the field work was done with horses and the first tractor ( a John Deere B) was bought by Ralph's father, Herman.

We have a fresh cow/dry cow barn,  a 3 row free style barn, a double 12 milking center, including an attached special needs barn.
In 2016 we added a calf barn with automated feeders and  heifer barn for one to two year old females.

We hope you enjoy your time with us. Feel free to ask any questions you may have about the dairy industry, our farm, or agriculture in general. We, as farmers, make every effort to inform the public about our industry.
