Adirondack Karting Association

162 Prospect Street
518-885-9701

The AKA is a nonprofit organization that was formed in the early 90's by a group of area racing enthusiasts. These are individuals that love motorsports; however, prefer to be racing themselves rather than pay an admission fee to watch someone else. Their goal was to develop a competitive racing venue that was affordable and the whole family could enjoy.

The AKA is a "kart club" made up of racers and their families that enjoy the exhilarating atmosphere that racing provides. The club has several classes competing on race day, offering a variety of classes ranging from 5 years old and up, so there is something here for everyone.

The club hosts approximately 15 points races a year on a 1/8th mile asphalt oval track located at the Saratoga County Fairgrounds in Ballston Spa, NY. This is the most exciting asphalt short track for racing karts in the state, as the lead is often swapped several times before the checkered is waved. At the end of the day the top three finishers are recognized and pictures taken and placed on the website. In addition club members are awarded points based on the WKA scoring system.

At the end of each season a banquet is held to recognize our AKA members and their accomplishments. All racers that participate in 50% of the events are eligible for year end awards. A trophy that is personalized with their name, kart number and finish is presented. Other specialty awards are also presented to recognize specific driver accomplishments; "Hard Charger", "Most Improved", "Sportsman" and the "Family Award". Class champions are also awarded Adirondack Karting jackets, fully embroidered with their name and club logo.

As always admission is free to our designated spectator area. This area is equipped with bleacher style seating overlooking turn 2. If this is not close enough for you everyone is welcome to purchase a pit pass and mingle with the racers, ask question and learn a little more about the AKA.
