The hunting seasons vary depending on the animal you intend to hunt, the area you intend to hunt in, the license you have, and the weapon you intend to use. The seasons are all mentioned in the regulation brochures. For example, for big game, the hunting season runs from Sept. 1 to Dec. 31 with regulations on weapon use. Sheep season begins in August and runs to Dec. 31 with regulations on type of sheep and goat. Mountain lion season runs twice a year in dates in November and April. Since there is such a variety of small game animals and migratory birds, the hunting dates vary wildly. Always check the regulation brochures to ensure you are hunting during the right time.
