The park is also brimming with family-friendly amenities, including picnic areas, nature trails, and playground.

If you want accommodation options, you’ll find plenty of them at Gulf State Park. The park offers cabins and lakeside cottages that are just a short drive to the ocean, in addition to full hookup or primitive campsites that are just a mile and a half from the beach. Guests can enjoy a slew of amenities, including swimming pool, splash pad, pickleball/tennis courts, horseshoe court, nature center, and organized family-friendly activities. There’s also a strong chance you’ll get to experience some of Alabama’s natural wildlife up close—turtles, alligators, and shorebirds are known to frequent the area.
