2020 Quail Hunting Fundraiser at Greystone Castle in Mingus, Texas

Looking for a world-class opportunity to hunt pheasant, quail, and chukar, and support a good cause while doing so? From November 13 through 15, the Higgins Branchini Shooting Foundation is hosting the 2020 Quail Hunting Fundraiser at Greystone Castle in Mingus, Texas.

The Higgins Branchini Shooting Foundation (HBSF) is a nonprofit organization that provides support to college students involved in the shooting sports. The cost of staying active in the shooting sports can be quite expensive so HBSF's support primarily comes through financial assistance—in the form of grants. These grants are used to pay for expenses such as ammunition costs, target costs, and travel and additional costs for competitive events.

Grant recipients have gone on to earn a number of noteworthy achievements in collegiate shooting sports all throughout the country. Some of the recent achievements include a 2018 U.S. Collegiate Men's International Skeet Champion out of Schreiner University, a 2018 U.S. Collegiate Women's International Trap Champion out of Midland University, and a 2019 U.S. Collegiate Women's International Skeet Champion out of Georgia College.

The Quail Hunting Fundraiser is the flagship event of HBSF's fundraising season. Not only is it an opportunity to raise funds for the youth of sport shooting to help them achieve their goals, but it gives contributors and partners the chance to introduce themselves and connect with the organization.

The 2020 Quail Hunting Fundraiser will be hosted for the second time at Greystone Castle—a 6,000-acre expanse with some of the best quail, pheasant, and chukar hunting in the United States. Hunters will head out in groups of three, with each group provided with guides, dogs, and transportation. Participants will also receive complimentary on-site bird processing.

Morning and afternoon packages will be available and are broken down into the following options:

  • Option 1 – A single half day hunt with lunch and refreshments included
    Option 1 Cost: $1,000 ($350 tax deductible)
  • Option 2 – Includes a morning hunt and afternoon sporting clays, with lunch and refreshments included (no overnight stay).
    Option 2 Cost: $1,100 ($350 tax deductible)
  • Option 3 – Includes an overnight stay at one of the five lodges at Greystone's main building and two hunts. Or enjoy one hunt and one round of sporting clays. Includes breakfast, lunch, and dinner, along with an open bar and snacks.
Option 3a (one hunt/one sporting clay session) Cost: $1,600 ($350 tax deductible)
    Option 3b (two-hunt package) Cost: $2,150 ($700 tax deductible)
